Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS)

Exporters and importers engaged in trade with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) must comply with the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) to clear customs and sell products in the UAE market.

ECAS is a Product Certification scheme stipulated by Federal Law 28 of 2001 for government-regulated products. Under this scheme, all regulated products must fulfill the safety and quality standards outlined in the Technical Regulations adopted by the UAE government.

Furthermore, suppliers are required to register their products with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and obtain a Certificate of Conformity before commencing sales.
